Republican primary voters in the Granite State are shaking things up. Our exclusive 7NEWS/Emerson College poll shows 49% of Republican voters in New Hampshire still favor former President Donald Trump. But former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has surged to second with 18%. She is followed by former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with 9%. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped to 7% and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy is polling at 5%. Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson got less than 1%. “For the last year, we’ve been looking at a Ron DeSantis – Donald Trump race and now it looks like Nikki Haley is the alternative instead of Ron DeSantis at this point,” said 7NEWS/Emerson College pollster Spencer Kimball.“About a year ago, Ron DeSantis was about 17%,” Kimball said. Now he’s down to 7%. And when we look at a candidate like Nikki Haley, since August she’s gone from 4% up to 18%.”New Hampshire voters, in general, als...Cassidy Moriarty (2 goals, assist) fuels Natick to state semifinal victory

Even if you’re eventually one of the lucky few to reach a state final at some point, you are always looking to get back in short order.Natick’s girls soccer program fits that mold. The Redhawks entered this week looking to punch their first ticket to a Div. 1 final since 2021, and they were able to follow through on those dreams.Junior Cassidy Moriarty paced the team (two goals, assist), as top-ranked Natick earned a trip back to the title game with a 5-2 victory over No. 5 Brookline on Tuesday.“We have 11 faces in the crowd that were on the sidelines during that (state final),” said Natick coach David Wainwright. “Some played different roles. For them, this is their own ownership of getting to this point. I’m excited for them. Right now, it hasn’t set in yet. As you can still see, the celebrations have only just begun.”Natick (20-1-1) certainly played the role of the top-seeded team in the state early on. Abby McCauley buried a shot in the fourth minute, before Moriarty sniped a go...Report: Andrew Bailey choosing Red Sox over Yankees

The Red Sox are “close to hiring” Andrew Bailey to be their new pitching coach, MLB insider Ken Rosenthal reported late Tuesday night.Bailey, who pitched for the Red Sox from 2012-13, has been the San Francisco Giants’ pitching coach for the last four years. He’s close friends with Boston’s new chief baseball officer Craig Breslow; they were teammates for five years in Oakland and Boston and already work together on Breslow’s Strike 3 Foundation.Several teams sought Bailey’s services, including the Baltimore Orioles. The New York Yankees interviewed him on Monday for their bench coach opening, which would’ve been a vertical move, a step closer to managing.Regardless of his relationship with Breslow, the Red Sox landing Bailey is a strong way to start the offseason. It not only shows how serious they are about transforming their pitching; it signals that they’re prepared to be aggressive again in the pursuit of winning. It may even...Ravens’ John Harbaugh on Jim Harbaugh’s suspension at Michigan: ‘They don’t have anything of substance’

Ravens coach John Harbaugh on Tuesday provided an impassioned defense of his brother, Jim Harbaugh, amid Michigan’s sign-stealing scandal. When asked for his opinion on Jim Harbaugh’s suspension by the Big Ten Conference, John Harbaugh said four times he was “proud” of his brother for how he’s “handled himself through all this.”Jim Harbaugh was suspended three games Friday — the rest of the No. 2-ranked Wolverines’ regular season — for a sign-stealing scheme that is also under investigation by the NCAA. Wind sprints have a way of getting the attention of hockey players, don’t they?A day after Bruins coach Jim Montgomery decided to end practice by treating his players to an eye-opening bag skate, the B’s responded with their most lopsided win of the season, pummeling the Buffalo Sabres, 5-2, at KeyBank Center on Tuesday.Against a young, talented Sabres team that just can’t seem to turn the corner from mediocrity, a total of 10 Bruins got on the scoresheet and four B’s netted their first goals of the season as the team put its uneven performance in Montreal last Saturday in the rearview mirror. But for all the good things the B’s did, the victory started with the netminder, as usual. Linus Ullmark made 31 saves, including 13 in the the first period when the Sabres could have made it a game.“It’s the singular reason why we have the record we have. It’s because of our goaltenders,” Montgomery told reporters in Buffalo after his team ...Reward offered for man suspected of kidnapping, auto theft

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — After four failed attempts, the U.N. Security Council is trying for a fifth time to come up with a resolution on the Israel-Hamas war, but it remains to be seen whether serious divisions can be overcome to produce a consensus on wording. The current draft under negotiation would demand “immediate extended humanitarian pauses” throughout the Gaza Strip to provide civilians with desperately needed aid. It also would demand that “all parties” comply with international humanitarian law that requires protection for civilians, calls for special protections for children, and bans hostage-taking.But the draft, proposed by council member Malta and obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press, makes no mention of a ceasefire. It also doesn’t refer to Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7 that killed around 1,200 people and took some 240 others hostage. Nor does it cite Israel’s retaliatory airstrikes and ground offensive in Hamas-ruled Gaza that the Gaza health ministry ...Dubai International Airport, world’s busiest, on track to beat 2019 pre-pandemic passenger figures

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Passenger numbers at Dubai International Airport this year will eclipse the pre-pandemic passenger figures in 2019, showing the strong rebound in travel after the coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns that grounded aircraft worldwide, a top official said Wednesday. The airport, the world’s busiest for international travel and home of the long-haul carrier Emirates, has had 64.5 million passengers pass through its cavernous concourses through the third quarter of this year. That puts it on track to reach 86.8 million passengers for the full year, which would exceed its 2019 figure of 86.3 million passengers. It had 66 million passengers last year. The airport’s busiest year was 2018, when it had 89.1 million passengers.“We’re thrilled but not entirely surprised that DXB is all set to surpass the pre-pandemic milestone well ahead of our initial projections by almost a year,” Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said in a statement. CHICAGO — Chicago’s Department of Transportation is expanding its network of protected bike lanes with the goal of making travel safer for not just bicyclists but also pedestrians and drivers. But a WGN News analysis of early data from one project in West Town shows there is no shortage of growing pains as neighbors navigate the changes. On Augusta Boulevard between Milwaukee and Western avenues, CDOT swapped the existing bike lanes and street parking, and added concrete curbs, to create new bike lanes protected from traffic by a line of parked cars. Ask people who use that mile-stretch of road how they feel about it, and you’ll get opposite reactions. “It’s fantastic. It’s so much safer than before,” bicyclist Stephanie Reid said. “It’s way too dangerous,” driver Erin Rubio said. The city completed the project in early August, also lowering the speed limit from 30 to 20 miles per hour. “We’ve noticed a big difference in how people are driving on the street and ...More 60s Wednesday and Thursday afternoons ahead of a showery, wind-shifting cold front passage late Thursday night which lowers Friday temperatures
